Hitesh Shah, B.S.’87

Hitesh Shah has more than 30 years of experience spanning startup through venture financing and eventual M&A exits in multiple high-technology companies. He has in-depth experience in people management, finance, venture capital, business development, product management, business planning and customer service. Shah has raised over $100 million in venture capital for four different startups.

For the past decade, Shah has served as the leading business development executive for BDO, a global public accounting firm. Prior to joining BDO, Shah served in multiple executive roles. He was the chief operating officer at Solum funded by Andreessen Horowitz, Khosla Ventures and Google, and later acquired by Monsanto. Shah also served as chief executive officer and chief operations officer at Fat Spaniel Technologies, acquired by Power-One, and chief financial officer at iPolicy Networks, acquired by Tech Mahindra in India.

Shah serves on the Executive Leadership Council of Parents Helping Parents, an organization whose mission is to empower families to build bright futures for children with special needs. He also serves on the board of directors of Human Needs Project, an organization focused on alleviating poverty, and Conscious Capitalism, Inc., whose purpose is to elevate humanity through business. He is active with WMU Haworth's TechNext program where he mentors students and invests in the future of the program.
