Advising Update 2026

Exploratory Advising is also advising for the Alpha program. If you are currently working with the Alpha program, you can reach out to any of the Exploratory advisors:

The advising office is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Our advising services are available via phone, video, and in-person.

 

Drop-in advising for Summer and Fall 2026 Registration

This spring, we will provide drop-in advising prior to the drop/add period for the fall 2026 semester. Drop-in advising for summer I and summer II 2026 courses is also available during these dates.

Wednesday, April 1, 2026  | 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

No appointment is necessary; simply come to 1275 Ellsworth Hall for advising assistance.

ALEKS is an "assessment," not a graded test. The purpose of the placement assessment is to give good measure of your current skills and to place you so that you will be successful in your mathematics courses.
Students who wish to receive course credit for AP exam scores should request that an official grade report transcript of their AP exam scores be sent to Western Michigan University.
For credit eligibility, Western Michigan University requires a minimum score of 5 or higher for IB exams.
