By Car
- From Detroit: I-94W to exit 75 (Oakland Drive).
- Turn right (North) onto Oakland Drive. Go approximately 2.6 miles to Howard Street.
- Turn left (West) onto Howard Street. Go approximately 1.1 miles to Michigan Avenue.
- Turn right onto Michigan Avenue. At the traffic circle take the second exit onto Ring Road North (Rankin Ave)
- At the stop sign take a right onto Business Court.
- Take the first left into the parking lot at the Fetzer Center/Schneider Hall parking area.
- From Chicago: I-94E to exit 74B (HWY 131 N towards Grand Rapids)
- Take the first exit (exit 36) and turn right (east) onto Stadium Drive. Go approximately 3.1 miles to Howard Street.
- Turn left (West) onto Howard Street. Go approximately 0.6 miles to Michigan Avenue.
- Turn right onto Michigan Avenue. At the traffic circle take the second exit onto Ring Road North (Rankin Ave)
- At the stop sign take a right onto Business Court.
- Take the first left into the parking lot at the Fetzer Center/Schneider Hall parking area.
- From Grand Rapids: 131S to exit 38A (M-43/W Main Street in Oshtemo)
- Turn right (east) onto Main Street. Go approximately 1.9 miles to Solon Street
- Turn right onto Solon Street. At the traffic circle take the second exit to stay on Solon St.
- At the second traffic circle continue straight onto Howard Street. Go approximately 0.2 miles to Goldsworth Valley Drive.
- Turn left onto Goldsworth Valley Drive.
- At the stop sign take a right onto Ring Road N. Go approximately 0.2 miles to Business Court.
- At the stop sign take a left onto Business Court.
- Take the first left into the parking lot at the Fetzer Center/Schneider Hall parking area.
By Bus
- Bus 16 (KTC to 58 West) travels from the Kalamazoo Transit Center in Downtown Kalamazoo to just outside Rood Hall on the campus of Western Michigan University.
- Fetzer Center (connected to Schneider Hall) is directly across the street from Rood Hall. The front door is a 3-minute walk from the bus stop.
By Train
- Amtrak has a stop at the Kalamazoo Transit Center in Downtown Kalamazoo.

Contacts for Questions About Exploring Kalamazoo


Elisha Hall is currently a Graduate Student Representative and Ph.D. student at WMU in mathematics education, examining student experiences in the classroom through a socio-educational lens. In addition, Elisha has been teaching in higher education in both mathematics and statistics since 2013.


Emma Jent is a Graduate Student Representative for the math department at Western Michigan University. She is currently a mathematics Ph.D. candidate and working as a teaching assistant at WMU. Her research interests are steeped in graph theory and combinatorics, specifically looking at multiple monochromatic subgraphs in edge-colored graphs.
