Introduction
The Kalamazoo Math Carnival is an event with a range of fun and engaging activities meant to appeal to students in grades K-8 and their families and caregivers. Parents, older siblings, younger siblings, other family members, and caregivers are invited. It is not a drop-off event.
The carnival will be held at Sangren Hall on the WMU campus on Saturday November 21 from 3 to 5 pm. Onsite parking for the event is available outside of Sangren Hall and free of charge.

The math activities were fun and engaging, the number of staff and their instruction for the math games were excellent, the treats were a hit, and the space was inviting. This event was a gift to our community!
Thank you, thank you for putting on this event!!! My fifth grader has been losing interest in math and attending reinvigorated her. When we walked out, she kept telling me how she wanted more of ‘those math games’ because they were so fun. The energy in her voice when talking about math was something I had never heard before!
The event was laid out beautifully, with many tables featuring the same activities to expand offerings to more kids.
This was incredible. So many stations and the faculty turnout was impressive.
Overall, it was a fantastic event with plenty of activities and games to keep the kids engaged. I loved the self-paced aspect of the event, which made it very enjoyable for my neurodiverse kiddos. The staff and students working the event were kind and courteous as well. Excellent event. Congratulations on such a successful event!
This was so much fun and my daughter felt so proud and engaged, very well executed, thank you! We hope to come to more events like this in the future.
It was one of the most influential events that I have attended with [my child]. She was thrilled with every college student who led an activity she participated in and she was encouraged with thoughtful suggestions at each game station. It was marvelous!
Thanks to the organizers and everyone who worked on this carnival, it was a really brain-boosting, fun event. We look forward to having this event at least once a year.
