A native of the western Michigan town of Hesperia, Rhonda Davenport Johnson holds both a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an MBA from WMU. As a 25-year veteran of Comerica Bank, Davenport Johnson has won several quality and service sales awards as well as being an honoree for Michigan Chronicle Woman of Excellence, Most Influential Woman by Business Direct Weekly, Women Worth Watching in Diversity magazine and a recipient of the Dale Carnegie Highest Achievement Award.

As senior vice president and director of the loan center for Comerica Bank, Davenport Johnson oversees Comerica’s loan center operations for mortgage, home equity, consumer and small business loans generated through Comerica’s national operations. Previously, she was regional manager of Comerica’s Oakland region, where she developed the vision, strategy and activities for building relationships with current and prospective customers. During her tenure with the bank, she has also been involved in banking center management, new business development and operations.

Throughout her career at Comerica, Davenport Johnson has demonstrated a commitment to giving back by mentoring and coaching both employees working under her supervision and also those with whom she interfaced in other leadership roles such as her roles as the former chairperson of Comerica’s African American Network and the Michigan African American Initiative.

She serves as the chairperson of the board of trustees of the Hospice of Michigan Foundation and serves on the trustee boards for the Urban League of Detroit and the Michigan Abolitionist Project. She has also served as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association and Garden City Hospital.
