Jane Westra

Jane Westra is an assistant director of academic advising for Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business.

In addition to her advising duties, she teaches first year experience for pre-business students. Westra earned an M.A. in organizational management from Spring Arbor University and a B.A. in organizational communication from WMU.

Westra joined the college as an academic advisor in February 2012. Prior to joining WMU, Westra worked as an academic advisor at Kellogg Community College and a student advocate at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She has taught business, computer and honor seminar courses as an adjunct instructor. She has also worked as an advisor for Phi Theta Kappa, the honor society for community college students.

Her previous experience includes 14 years working in sales and business marketing and as a loan officer. “I believe my education as well as my employment experience in business and industry provides a natural transition into academic advising for the Haworth College of Business. My desire is to help students achieve their goals as they further their education and assist in any way I can to help them find the perfect fit for their future.”
