The Sharp Salesperson

Account Sales Manager, Harvest Sherwood Food Distributors

Gino Faris is fond of his career in food and beverage. Empowered by his education in sales and business marketing from WMU Haworth, Faris entered the industry with a zest for success. His fruitful pursuits have now landed him the position of account sales manager at Harvest Sherwood Food Distributors, a company that distributes high-quality meat and meat-alternative products to both chain and family-owned grocery stores nationwide.

Prior to Harvest Sherwood, Faris started at PepsiCo in Detroit. He joined the company’s Campus Hire program and made quick work of his role by taking on a challenging project involving the Gatorade brand. The results he produced for this initiative were outstanding and are currently being implemented nationwide. Not one to shy away from sharing a solution, Faris was awarded the PepsiCo North Star Award by the division president for “voicing his opinion fearlessly.”

Moving his career to San Diego for PepsiCo, he picked up a few more awards, including the Closer of the Quarter award for his area three consecutive quarters in a row. Faris reflects on his time at WMU and credits his top-rated sales education, the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and impactful professors at the college for laying the foundation for his continued professional achievements.

Hidden Talent:

“I grew up in a multiethnic household, and I’m able to engage people of many different backgrounds. I speak enough Arabic, Italian and Spanish to at least introduce myself and get a conversation going.”
