Senior Human Resources Business Partner, Bridgestone
Pursuing advanced knowledge of the human resources field, Nicholas Michaud set his sights on grad school and earned a master’s degree in human resources and labor relations at Michigan State University following his graduation from Western Michigan University.
During his graduate studies, he secured a position with Jackson National, where he contributed to recruiting and early employee professional development initiatives. He also had the opportunity to intern with Bridgestone Americas at their Agricultural Tire Manufacturing Plant in Des Moines, Iowa. There, Michaud specialized in continuous improvement projects. He created an initiative focused on employee engagement and retention and another centered on expanding learning opportunities and career advancement for staff within the plant.
Upon completion of his master’s degree, Michaud joined Bridgestone’s Truck and Bus Radial Tire Plant in La Vergne, Tennessee, as senior human resources business partner where he serves as the lead HR contact for salaried staff. His focus is on leadership development for team leaders, with a particular emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion training. He’s also deeply involved in labor relations, working closely with the local United Steelworkers chapter to address challenges and collaborate on solutions that improve both business efficiency and team morale.
