Cody Sinkler has drive on and off the green. Whether it’s innovating the traditional golf experience or positively impacting players’ lives, his work is always on par. As director of golf operations at one of the nation’s premier public golf courses, he leads the facility in a range of meaningful ways.
Since 2023, Sinkler’s leadership has revolutionized tee times and tournaments for golfers of all ages. In addition to overseeing high-profile events, including Capital One’s The Match and Steph Curry’s Underrated Tour, he aided in the development of a cutting edge after-school program for students in need through a partnership with local Title I schools in Florida.
Steering his team to foster an inclusive environment for individuals of all abilities, backgrounds and circumstances to enjoy the game is central to his performance. This hard work has paid off, and the course has earned accolades like ranking No. 7 on “The best courses you can play in Florida” by Golf Digest and No. 36 on “Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S. for 2024-25” by Golf.com.
Critical to his career has been continuing his education in the community. After earning his bachelor’s degree at WMU, Sinkler went on to get his master’s degree in public administration from the University of Miami. He’s also heavily involved with the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) of America, having participated in their PGA LEAD Program, a leadership development program for members, and serving on two national committees.
