Alexander Walter, B.B.A.’19
Adaptive Analyst
Lead IT Business Analyst, North America, Kellanova
Like any effective algorithm, Alexander Walter’s career has consisted of change, efficiency and growth. He has embraced those conditions and more to become the innovator he is today—managing high-level strategy and implementation projects for one of the world’s largest food companies.
Walter started as an intern in IT at the Kellogg Company. Interested in artificial intelligence from the get-go, he built a chatbot with experimental AI tools, which led him to become an IT engineer. He was put in charge of a monumental data migration to the cloud, then acted as the main support system for infrastructure at the company during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before he became a lead IT business analyst for the North American region at Kellanova, Walter took his time to develop his skills at Acrisure. The fast-growing fintech and insurance broker saw him make leaps and bounds for their change management process.
Not one to shy away from switching it up, he returned to the global leader in snacking to oversee their $3.5 million compute footprint in North America, encompassing both corporate and supply chain implementations. Walter recently served as a keynote speaker at the 2024 IT Forum at WMU, returning to his academic roots to inspire the next generation.
Favorite WMU Professor:
“Bob Stewart, the instructor for my first-year experience course. He eventually became my boss at my first job in the Zhang Career Center. Bob embodied everything that makes one a good person. He truly cared about every student that came onto his office and made a positive impact on many Broncos.”
