Vice President, Consumables, Sam’s Club
As vice president, consumables, at Sam’s Club, Trent Weller focuses on elevating private brand, improving packaging and cross-category merchandising. Under his leadership, 12 management associates have been promoted out of the consumables division.
Prior to his current position, Weller spent four years working his “college dream job,” serving as vice president over adult and non-adult beverages. In this role, Weller’s team delivered above market growth by enhancing quality assortment and focusing on emerging beverages and core brands through the instant savings program.
Before joining Sam’s Club, Weller began his career at Walmart after receiving his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University. Throughout his 15 years at Walmart, Weller held various merchandising positions including buyer, pricing director and director.
Weller has been honored by Walmart three times as buyer of the year and was awarded Sam’s Club divisional merchandise manager of the year in 2012.
Weller is an active participant in the community, serving as a board member of the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club. He currently sits on the Western Michigan University Food Marketing Advisory Board.
