How to apply

Step 1: Apply to WMU

Submit your general application and select your intended music major. If you're applying to more than one music program, one application is all you need.

Step 2: Complete the Music Application

After you apply to WMU, complete the separate School of Music application. This is where you'll share your musical background and select your preferred program(s).

Step 3: Attend an audition day

Every prospective music student attends an audition day to audition or interview. You'll choose your date when you submit your music application.

Audition dates

Fall 2026 Admission

Applications are due at least two weeks before your chosen date. Auditions in November, January, or February give you the best consideration for scholarships.
