GEAR UP Summer Opportunities

WMU Michigan GEAR UP is hosting two tours this summer. Students in the 10th grade at Benton Harbor, Fennville, Hartford and Kalamazoo Central High Schools are eligible to apply. All costs, meals, housing, and group development activities are provided by the program.  Applicants and their legal parents/guardians must complete a summer tour application in its entirety to be considered. 

Applicants will have a choice between two summer college tours:

• June 16-20, 2024: The Michigan Colleges Tour will be taking 20 GEAR UP students by charter bus to several Michigan colleges and universities: Saginaw Valley State University, Kettering University, the University of Michigan, and Michigan State University. 
• July 29-August 2, 2024: The Tennessee Colleges Tour will be taking 10 GEAR UP students by charter bus to several Tennessee colleges and universities that include HBCU's: Tennessee State University, Fisk University, Vanderbilt University and Simmons College in Kentucky. This trip is in conjunction with WMU's Upward Bound Program and will include 20 UB program participants.
