Article Grid

Article grids facilitate placing a grid of CMS news articles on a flexible page.  They simplify the creation of what would otherwise be a component grid of image cards referencing existing CMS news articles.

How to add an Article grid

  1. Select Article grid from the Component type drop down list and click the Add new Component, or Add another Component button.

  2. Use Articles per row to decide how many news articles should be displayed across in a single row and Number of rows to choose how many rows of articles you would like.

  3. Click on Add items to manually select any published news article(s) to be displayed, and/or Check the Include feed checkbox to automatically include the most recent news articles published in the same section as the flexible page containing this Article grid.

  4. You can specify Tags to limit the articles automatically included by the Include feed checkbox, to those also tagged with the specified tag.

Things worth mentioning

  • The Article grid is only for adding News articles from the CMS, not Basic pages or other content types.

  • The values selected for Articles per row and Number of rows reflect the appearance of the Article grid on larger devices and screen sizes.  On medium sized devices, a row of four articles will become two rows, each two articles abreast.  Thus the number of rows is doubled.  On small devices, articles will always stack beneath each other and be shown one article abreast, regardless of the chosen values.  Thus the number of rows could be twice, thrice or four times the value selected for Number of rows.

  • An Articles per row selection of 1 results in the article's title being displayed to the right of its image instead of below it and the addition of the article's body summary below the title.

  • Published news articles from any CMS section can be manually added to the article grid, but the automatic feed is limited to articles within the same section as the flexible page.

  • The Tags field only filters the automatic feed.  It does not add articles with the specified tag from other sections, nor does it exclude articles that were manually added that are not tagged.

Examples

The article grid below has an Articles per row value of 4.  It will appear to be a single row of four articles, or two rows of two articles each, or four rows of individual articles, depending on the size of the device or window it is being viewed in.

The next article grid has an Articles per row value of 1.  Thus, the article title and a summary sit to the right of the article's image when able.
