How much does GradGuard cost?
Costs are determined on a case-by-case basis and can fluctuate depending on a student’s living situation, class standing, etc. Quotes are typically around $180 ($15,000 of coverage) but can be adjusted based on the individual student’s needs and desired coverage.
What exactly does GradGuard cover?
GradGuard can refund up to 100% of semester costs including tuition, fees, university housing, and textbooks. GradGuard can cover serious injury or illness, mental health conditions, chronic illness, and even the death or job loss of a tuition payer.
When can students sign up for GradGuard?
Interested students should purchase GradGuard Insurance as early in the semester as possible. GradGuard Tuition insurance must be purchased through the 100% add/drop deadline for courses each term. GradGuard Tuition Insurance cannot be purchased for the current semester after that deadline.
Can students use GradGuard for a partial withdrawal?
No, GradGuard is only applicable for situations where a student withdraws from all of their coursework in a given semester.
Can graduate students use GradGuard? Can international students?
Yes, both graduate students and international students are eligible for GradGuard coverage. It should be noted, however, that VISA issues are not covered by GradGuard.
