In an effort to save time, resources, and enhance sustainability, Western Michigan University utilizes electronic billing for student semester invoices and monthly account statements.
Tuition rates
The tuition rate for Western Michigan University is set by the Board of Trustees. These rates are broken down by semester, undergraduate resident and non-resident, graduate resident and non-resident, and by college. Tuition and fees are generally due on the first day of classes. More detailed information regarding
tuition and fees is available on the Registrar’s website. In addition,
academic calendars include many important dates for each semester such as registration dates, refund dates, withdrawal dates, finals, midterm grading, final grading, and tuition due dates.
Semester Tuition and Fee invoices
Semester tuition and fee invoices are generated approximately four to five weeks before the start of the semester. The semester invoice includes tuition, fees, room and board, pending financial aid, the student's class schedule for the semester, and the tuition due date.
Invoices are not mailed to students or authorized users. Students and authorized users will receive an email/text notification when the invoice is ready for viewing online. Student emails are sent to their wmich.edu email address.
Students may view their semester invoice and account balance by logging in through
goWMU with their Bronco NetID and password and then selecting the Payment and Account Information App.
Authorized users may view invoices and make payments by logging into the
authorized user website with their email address and password.
Please note: Semester tuition and fee invoices only include charges for the current semester/session and do not include any previous semester charges that may be past due.
Students registered after the semester invoice has been generated
Students who have not registered before semester invoices are distributed will be able to see the tuition, fees, payments, and pending financial aid on the next monthly statement (available only through
goWMU or the
authorized user website). Students and
authorized users will receive notification via email/text when a monthly statement is available to view. The monthly statement will not include the student's class schedule. Students can view their class schedule through
goWMU. Authorized users with proxy access can view student class schedules by logging in to the student account through the
Proxy Access Login.
Monthly Account statements
Monthly account statements are available electronically through the student’s goWMU account within the Payment and Account Information App. Statements are generated on or after the 15
th of every month and include new charges added to the account since the last statement in addition to showing any unpaid prior balances. Students and
authorized users receive an email and if they have elected to they may receive a text message when a new monthly statement is available for viewing. Students with a $0.00 balance and no current activity will not receive a monthly statement.
Students can view their monthly statement and account balance by logging into their
goWMU account with their Bronco NetID and password and then selecting the Payment and Account Information App.
