The Irving S. Gilmore School of Music’s Jazz Masters Series presents Luciana Souza, a GRAMMY-winning composer and one of jazz’s leading singers.

Celebrated for her transcendent vocals and collaborations with music legends like Herbie Hancock and Paul Simon, Souza’s work bridges continents and styles. Fresh off a 2024 Grammy nomination and a celebrated NPR Tiny Desk Concert, she brings her remarkable talent to Kalamazoo.

This unique concert unites Souza with the full spectrum of WMU’s jazz program. She will perform alongside the Western Jazz Collective (WMU’s acclaimed jazz faculty), the University Jazz Orchestra, and the renowned vocal ensemble Gold Company.

Join us for a dynamic celebration of Brazilian music, jazz interpretation, and collaborative artistry.
