Kalamazoo Autism Center 2019 updates

KAC patient at center

Western Michigan University's Kalamazoo Autism Center is a world leader in service, training and research in the field of applied behavior analysis. Another year of excitement and change has happened at KAC.

Kalamazoo Autism Center Celebrates its third anniversary

KAC recently celebrated its third anniversary in September. The center aims to improve the lives of individuals with autism and their families by providing evidence-based, individualized treatment and therapy to advance meaningful community engagement. KAC has provided over 25,000 hours of direct therapy to more than 35 children, young adults and families impacted by autism. In partnership with WMU’s Department of Psychology, the center staffs nearly 35 behavior technicians, many of whom are WMU undergraduates gaining real world experience relevant to their field of study.

Kalamazoo Autism Center Inaugural Art Show a success!

The KAC recently presented artwork developed by their clients at the first annual KAC Art Show: Follow Your Art! The event occurred at Bell’s Brewery on Monday, April 21, 2019, and raised approximately $8,000 to increase the quality of clinical services at the center. Planning for next year's art show is already in the works.

Playground fundraising efforts

The KAC has reached their first donation goal and broke ground at the site of their future playground thanks to their wonderful community of supporters! The center was able to create a beautiful green space for their clients to enjoy during the warmer months of the year. KAC is still working hard to secure the funds for playground structures. Those who would like to donate can reach out to the center for tax-deductible donation information.
