The College of Arts and Sciences is hosting a photo contest to collect current, high-quality images to market its study abroad programs. Enter and you could win a scholarship for up to $750!

2024 Contest information

We are currently accepting study abroad photos from all currently enrolled Arts and Sciences students.

Entries that meet the specified criteria will be considered for one of three awards:

  • 1st place – $750
  • 2nd place – $500
  • 3rd place – $250

Scholarship awards are granted twice annually.

  • Submissions from Summer II/Fall 2023 will be accepted until February 15, 2024.
  • Submissions from Spring/Summer I 2024 will be accepted until July 15, 2024.

*All photos entered will be released to the University for unlimited publicity use. Entries are not guaranteed an award.

Eligibility

Student criteria

  • Program of study must be in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Must be enrolled in the semester that funds are disbursed
  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students

Photo criteria

All photo submissions must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Feature at least one WMU student and a WMU identifier (flag, T-shirt, etc.)
  • Feature a cultural identifier
    • Examples: a well-known landmark/location, a cultural experience, a learning activity/experience
  • 300 dpi (or highest resolution possible)

*Note: to be eligible for the scholarship, students must be enrolled in the semester when the scholarship will be disbursed.
