The College of Arts and Sciences is hosting a photo contest to collect current, high-quality images to market its study abroad programs. Enter and you could win a scholarship for up to $1,000!

2023 Contest information

We are currently accepting study abroad photos from all currently enrolled Arts and Sciences students.

Entries that meet the specified criteria will be considered for one of three awards:

  • 1st place – $1,000
  • 2nd place – $750
  • 3rd place – $500

Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis until November 18, 2023.

*All photos entered will be released to the University for unlimited publicity use. Entries are not guaranteed an award.

Eligibility

Student criteria

  • Program of study must be in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Must be enrolled in the semester that funds are disbursed (ex. if you submit for the 2023 contest, you must be enrolled in the Spring 2024 semester to be eligible for an award)
  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students

Photo criteria

All photo submissions must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Feature at least one WMU student and a WMU identifier (flag, T-shirt, etc.)
  • Feature a cultural identifier
    • Examples: a well-known landmark/location, a cultural experience, a learning activity/experience
  • 300 dpi (or highest resolution possible)

*Note: to be eligible for the scholarship, students must be enrolled in the Spring 2023 semester when the scholarship will be disbursed.
