Joey Berlin, B.B.A.’21
Appliance Aficionado
Market Manager, Whirlpool
Upon graduating, Joey Berlin joined Whirlpool’s early career sales leadership program, “The Real Whirled” and then moved into a role as a sales execution representative in Cincinnati.
After spending several months in the role working with big-box retailers, he became a market development representative, where he had the opportunity to work with 70 smaller appliance retailers throughout the Midwest, finding a passion for working with independent dealers whose livelihood depended on their partnerships with Whirlpool.
Berlin then jumped at the opportunity to move back home to become the market manager for east Michigan working with larger independent retailers and distributors as well as managing all single and multi-family builders in the region. Excited for the opportunity to move home to work with the accounts he saw commercials for growing up, he takes great pride in pointing out to family the buildings and communities that he helped equip with appliances. Berlin has had success in his latest role, growing Whirlpool’s market share by increasing annual sales volume in both dollars and units. But his biggest accomplishment is nurturing and building long-lasting relationships with his customers that extend outside of work.
