Graduating magna cum laude from Western Michigan University, Marissa Bruno spent a year after college honing her skills in logistics sales. 

Eager to expand her expertise, she transitioned into sales and recruiting at an IT staffing firm, where she achieved several career milestones, including being recognized as the Breakout Recruiter of the Year and receiving the Partnership Award alongside her team. 

After three successful years in that role, she pivoted to corporate recruiting at a top accounting firm, where she was rapidly promoted to senior recruiter within just four months. Currently, she leads national talent acquisition efforts at RSM across the U.S. for a division of Audit, the Office of Risk Management and the National Professional Standards Group.

Bruno is active in mentoring WMU sales and business marketing students, investing in the next generation of Business Broncos.

“Stay close with your professors from your program! They are the best people to bounce career advice off of, and I still do that to this day. I would also recommend keeping your heart and mind open to new opportunities and speaking with the recruiters who reach out to you even if you’re not interested in a new job—the process keeps your interviewing skills sharp and builds your network for the future.”
