Describe your current job:

I support 3 large groups of employees within Fifth Third Bank which total approximately 2000 employees. I work with heads of lines of business on their employee relations needs. Negotiating, influencing, and consultative skills are important when working the leaders and teams I support. My job is to help managers and employees get to where they need or want to be at work. I help managers and employees know and understand performance concerns, policies and procedures and promote collaboration, which is imperative to an engaged staff and maintaining a place where everyone wants to work.

What is the most rewarding and the most challenging part of your job?

Working with different lines of business and different levels of managers is my favorite part of my job. In addition, learning about business.

What activities, resources, or people helped you prepare for your career?

My professors and mentors at work helped me through the four years I was at WMU. In addition, my fellow students were the best people I could possibly ask to work with.

What advice would you offer students to help them decide on a career path?

Look outside your box. Talk to various people on campus. Think about your ideal job and how you will achieve your dream.
