Manually adding a student to Handshake

If you did not find the student in Handshake (click here for help searching):

1. Verify that they are a WMU student by searching for them using WMU People Search

2. If they show up in People Search, go back to Handshake (Career Services/admin account) and click on the "Manage" tab under the "Student" section of the black sidebar on the left of the page.

 

3. At the top of the page, enter their @wmich.edu email address and click on the "Add User" button.

4. On the next page, enter the student's @wmich.edu email in the Email address field, and enter their WIN in the Username field.

5. Set the "Auth identifier" field as their Bronco NetID @wmich.edu.

6. Create their account, and then send them the following message to their @wmich.edu email address through WExchange:

[STUDENT NAME],

You contacted our office earlier today to report your issues with logging to Handshake.  I've added an account for you, so you should be able to log in now.  Handshake should have sent you an email automatically asking you to set up your password.
