Alumni Update June 2015

Alumni of Western Michigan University’s School of Communication John Paul, Kevin Burke and Matt DeYoung have recently amassed a number of noteworthy accomplishments.

John Paul is joining Charlotte, North Carolina area news station WAXN (Channel 64) as news anchor starting in August 2015. Paul comes to WAXN with seven plus years of experience with sister Cox Communication stations in both Dayton and Steubenville, Ohio. (Photo credit The Charlotte Observer)

Franklin & Marshall College of Lancaster, Pennsylvania recently promoted Kevin Burke to the role of vice president of communications for the school. Burke was promoted from his previous post as associate vice president for communications at the college where he has served since 2013. Burke earned his bachelor’s degree in English and journalism at WMU. (Photo credit Franklin & Marshall College)

Alumnus Matt De Young recently took over as the managing editor of the Grand Haven Tribune. A School of Communication graduate with a degree in community journalism, De Young spent 14 years as the Tribune's sports editor.
