The department advisor can assist students in understanding degree requirements, campus resources and academic options, while helping students determine and achieve academic goals.
To meet with the academic advisor, students must either attend drop-in hours or schedule an appointment. For updated advising information and notifications, follow advising on Twitter.
Advising information for spring 2021: The School of Communication advisor, Beth Cramer, is available for advising during normal business hours. All meetings continue to be done virtually at this time. Please see the options below.
Advising appointments
New to WMU student advising
If you are a new to WMU transfer or first-year student starting at WMU in Summer 2021 or Fall 2021, you must first take part in the Orientation process through the Office of Student Transitions. You will be contacted to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor as part of that process.
Current student advising
Due to the University’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak facing the state of Michigan, there will not be any face-to-face advising appointments in the School of Communication at this time. School of Communication students will continue to be served through online meetings, email and phone.
