I am currently an Automation Engineer where I mainly do PLC programming and design global display units for our clients. I also work on machine vision software where I program smart cameras to inspect parts.
What is the most rewarding and the most challenging part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is just having fun with the new things I'm constantly learning. The most challenging part is bringing projects to life in a short time span for big name companies such as Fedex and GM. The pressure is what makes it fun.
Which of your skills had the biggest impact on your success?
Charisma. Just be a fun person and you'll naturally network and find the opportunity you've always wanted.
What advice would you offer students to help them decide on a career path?
Enjoy the ride. Know what's best for you and don't be afraid to be selfish.
