Bronco Spotlight: Peter Grostic
Director of Professional Learning at Communications by Design
I lead and support a team of five instructional technology professional learning coaches. As coaches, we facilitate workshops and coach teachers as they work to meaningfully integrate instructional technologies into their classrooms. We work exclusively with K-12 schools.
What is the most rewarding and the most challenging part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is meeting and working with new educators all of the time. This year alone, my organization supports over 1800 educators. The most challenging (and fun) part of the job is anticipating and supporting the needs of educators in a constantly changing educational landscape.
Which of your skills had the biggest impact on your success?
Empathy has had the biggest impact on my success. The ability to understand another's circumstances helps me respond appropriately and effectively to their needs.
What advice do you have for students looking for their career after college?
Don't be afraid of a challenge. The world is changing constantly, so it's important to keep learning and expanding one's network, which can involve taking risks that may not always pan out.
