How do I create an on-campus employer account in Handshake? (For WMU employees only)

  • Visit and click "Sign up for an Account."
  • Select the "Employer" tab and fill out the necessary information.
  • Check your email for a confirmation link.
  • Request approval from WMU.
  • Search for "Western Michigan University" in the "What is the name of the company you work for?"  Please note: if you are unable to find your division in the subsequent step, we will assign your division to your account when we review your request.
  • Career services staff will be notified of the account creation. Once the account creation is approved, you will be able to access Handshake.
