Bronco Spotlight: Hannah Vinande

Hannah Vinande

Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature, 2020

Teaching Fellow and Master's Student at Boston College

I received a full ride scholarship to Boston College, where I will be getting my Master's in French Language and Literature while teaching intermediate French at the college.

What is the most rewarding and the most challenging part of your job?

The new challenges to classrooms and the curriculum because of COVID 19. It is my first time teaching so it will be interesting!

What experiences impacted the choice of your career path?

My experience with the study abroad program in Besançon, France was critical to my time at WMU. It increased my skills in French at least 10-fold and helped my come into my own as a person outside of academics.

What advice do you have for others pursuing a career similar to yours?

I would suggest that anyone wanting to teach while getting their master's to keep in contact with the professor's that most influenced their growth at WMU. Their experiences are extremely valuable to you and ultimately the student's that you end of teaching one day.
