Talent Acquisition, Candidate Care Specialist at Stryker

I work closely with hiring managers and recruiters at the world's leading medical device maker, by identifying and acquiring talent.

What is the most rewarding and the most challenging part of your job?

The most rewarding part about my job is giving people a chance to get a career at one of the best places to work; the challenging part is finding the right candidates who fit our culture and objectives.

If you had a campus job or internship, how did they impact your career development?

It's extremely important to try and get an internship or a job that is closely aligned with your career path.  A lot of employers are looking for people who have somewhat of a working experience in the field they are going into and having an internship while in school definitely helped with that.

What advice do you have for students looking for their career after college?

Don't look at the dollars or salary of a job you want.  Think long and hard and ask yourself, is this something I would enjoy doing even if I didn't get paid to do it?  If the answer is yes, then you're in the right field.  Do something that will make you happy and don't worry too much about compensation. When you do what you love, it's very rewarding for your career and well-being.
