The College of Education and Human Development is excited to launch the CEHD Graduate Student Professional Development Initiative – a comprehensive program designed specifically to enhance your career readiness and professional success.

CEHD Graduate Students involved in this initiative will be provided the following resources:
  • Guest Speaker Series featuring industry experts and academic leaders
  • Job Market Preparation Workshops with mock interviews and research presentation training
  • Professional Development Tools including CV creation resources and career materials
  • Career Development Assessment through surveys and time with a career counselor
  • Networking Opportunities with faculty, professionals, and fellow graduate students

This program is open to all CEHD students across all programs. This initiative is designed for students who are nearing completion of their studies. Master's degree students ideally in their last year of coursework. Doctoral students ideally in their final 1-2 years or ABD (All But Dissertation) status. The timing ensures you'll gain maximum benefit from job market preparation and career transition activities as you approach graduation.

The program runs throughout the academic year with activities strategically scheduled to accommodate your coursework and research commitments. All materials, training sessions, and resources are provided at no cost to participants.

Events will be held both in-person and online to accommodate diverse schedules and preferences. We anticipate meeting 1-2 times per month throughout the academic year, with sessions designed to fit around your coursework and research commitments.
