Many courses offered here for event management students teach you valuable skills that you will use in the future. My favorite class is HPHE-2100 Strategic Planning, where you get to dive deep into what it takes to run an event. You learn a lot of the behind-the-scenes.
After graduating, I want to take a few years exploring different areas. I’d love to work for the Detroit Auto Show or even a private corporate company planning events. The cool thing about this major is that I have so much to choose from.
There are endless opportunities out there to figure out what you love. The program is very hands-on and engaging.
Yes! As I freshman, you take a mix of general electives, but you also begin with intro event management courses. By sophomore year, is when things really get started, and you have more classes dedicated to event management.
