Subsidized Registration
The Sponsor a Medievalist Program makes it possible for scholars to attend the International Congress on Medieval Studies without paying registration fees. This program was inaugurated in 2024 in memory of John Sommerfeldt, the first director of the Medieval Institute, whose vision for medieval studies included broadening access within and beyond the academy.
Eligibility
- Graduate students, early career researchers (degree conferred within the last three years), medievalists without institutional support, and any in need of assistance to participate in ICMS are eligible.
- Applicants must be a presenter in a Congress session (e.g., giving a paper, participating in a roundtable discussion, leading a workshop or demonstration).
- The number of subsidized registrations available will depend on donations to the program fund.
How to Apply
The application deadline for subsidized registration for the 60th Congress was Feb. 28, 2025. All applicants will be notified with the results by March 15, 2025.
