Each year at the International Congress on Medieval Studies, there are two featured Plenary Lectures and a featured Reception of the Classics in the Middle Ages Lecture.

The Reception of the Classics in the Middle Ages lecture at the 60th International Congress on Medieval Studies will be given by Anthony Kaldellis (Univ. of Chicago) and is titled "East Rome and the Shaping of the Greek Classical Canon." The Reception of the Classics Lecture is endowed in memory of Archibald Cason Edwards, Senior, and Sarah Stanley Gordon Edwards. The lecture is open to registered attendees of the International Congress on Medieval Studies.

Terms of Terminology and Theories of Naming in Medieval Texts (and Medieval Studies)

The first plenary lecture at the 60th International Congress on Medieval Studies, sponsored by the Medieval Academy of America, will be given by Haruko Momma (New York Univ.) and is titled "Terms of Terminology and Theories of Naming in Medieval Texts (and Medieval Studies)." The lecture is open to registered attendees of the International Congress on Medieval Studies.

The second plenary lecture at the 60th International Congress on Medieval Studies, sponsored by De Gruyter and Medieval Institute Publications, will be given by Dawn Hadley (Univ. of York) and is titled "The Viking Great Army and its Legacy." The lecture is open to registered attendees of the International Congress on Medieval Studies.
