Campus Safety

Your safety at the International Congress on Medieval Studies is very important to us. For emergencies, dial 911. For non-emergencies, call Kalamazoo County Consolidated Dispatch at 269-488-8911. Western Michigan University's campus is continually patrolled by sworn police officers of WMU Public Safety. The campus is well lit and surveilled by hundreds of security cameras. Outdoor areas also have strategically located emergency call boxes.

Additionally, as part of making the Congress as secure as possible, we ask that you wear your badge in all Congress venues and be prepared to show your badge when asked, especially at venues or spaces dedicated to Congress activities. Badges will be checked at selected session locations and at the Saturday night dance.
