Registrar’s Notes – May 5, 2014
Summer I
The Summer I session started today at 8:00 a.m. Students have until the end of the day Friday to add/drop a Summer I course. The official census count will be taken at the end of the day on Monday, May 12. Please make every effort to ensure that all students attending Summer I courses are registered in Banner so they can be accurately reflected in our census counts.
Summer I Waitlist
Waitlist notification will be turned off Thursday morning for the Summer I session. Any student still remaining on a waitlist will be removed Friday afternoon. If you would like to print a list of students waitlisted in a section prior to Friday, you can do so in Banner on the SFAWLPR form.
Summer Commencement
Planning for the June 28 commencement is underway. There will be two ceremonies held in Miller Auditorium as follows:
9:00 a.m. College of Education and Human Development College of Health and Human Services
College of Engineering and Applied Sciences Extended University Programs
12:30 p.m. College of Arts and Sciences
College of Aviation College of Fine Arts
Haworth College of Business
Graduates can receive up to six guest tickets. The deadline to RSVP is Wednesday, June 18.
Study Abroad Course Repeat Policy
Just a reminder that students may repeat a course taught by an overseas institution during WMU sponsored study abroad if they receive prior approval by the department. A Study Abroad Repeat Course Permission Form needs to be submitted to the Registrar's Office prior to starting the repeated course. The form can be found on the Registrar's Office website.
Reclaim the W Program
Reclaim the W Program is a pilot initiative to restore first year students (FTIACs) with a WMU GPA between 1.00 and 1.99 that were dismissed at the end of their second semester. Eligible students will be granted readmission for the Fall 2014 semester, providing they agree to the following conditions:

Attend a Reclaim the W orientation session during the first week of the semester.

Complete UNIV 1030 with a grade of “C” or higher.

Register for a maximum enrollment of 15 credit hours.

Authorize the University to make course schedule adjustments on their behalf.

Meet with their college advisor at least twice per semester.

Earn a semester GPA of 2.00 or higher.
Information regarding the Reclaim the W Program will be sent to eligible students this week. Students interested in participating in the program are asked to respond to the Registrar’s Office by June 15.
