Success Guide and General Education Guide
In preparation for the start of orientation, the General Education Guide has been updated on the Registrar’s Office website for the 2013/2014 academic year. An updated copy of the First Year Success Guide is also available.
Banner Upgrade
The upgrade to the Banner system was accomplished successfully this weekend. You should see very few changes in the functionality or appearance of either INB or Self-Service Banner. Please let us know if you run into any problems with Banner as a result of the upgrade.
Security Training
The Office of Information Technology provides online training for faculty and staff at WMU on the security and use of university data; as well as training on FERPA, HIPAA, Identity Theft, PII and other compliance regulations. Training videos are available on the IT website. If you have not already done so, I encourage you to watch the security presentation and participate in the Securing the Human online training program. The training contains valuable information to help you protect confidential student data.
Validate Contact Information
The first time a student accesses the schedule of course offerings or registers for courses in GoWMU for a fall or spring semester, they are prompted to update or validate their contact information. In addition to entering a permanent/home address and emergency contact information, students will now be required to enter a cell phone number. If they do not have a cell phone, they are directed to enter their primary phone number in the field.
Spring 2015 Schedule Building
As a reminder, Spring 2015 working reports are available in Cognos for departments to review. Working reports do not need to be returned this round; all editing may be done in Banner through 5 p.m. on May 30.
