Registrar’s Notes – June 9, 2014

Grading

Grading for the Spring 2014 semester has been closed. Students who were not issued a grade by the instructor have been given an incomplete. Instructors can remove the “I” grade using the “Remove Incomplete Grade” link on the Faculty menu in GoWMU.

Grading for the Summer I session will open today. Summer I grades are due at noon on Tuesday, July 2.

Summer Commencement

The June commencement ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 28 in Miller Auditorium. Graduates planning to attend should reserve their tickets no later than Wednesday, June 18. The RSVP form can be found under the Academic Services menu in GoWMU. Graduates can also reserve their six guest tickets through the Registrar’s Office by calling (269) 387-4300.

Reverse Transfer

Western Michigan University recently added four new reverse transfer partners; Henry Ford Community College, Oakland Community College, St. Clair Community College and Washtenaw Community College. To date, WMU has signed 19 reverse transfer agreements with Michigan community colleges. Reverse Transfer allows students to receive an associate degree by combining credits completed at WMU with credits earned at the community college. Graduation Congos Report

A new Cognos report has been created to help identify students in the graduation pipeline. The report is located in the Academic Outcome folder and is titled 700.00.18 Graduation Audits by Program. The report can be run for a specific term and allows you to generate a list by level and college. The report output includes the student’s program, audit status and the date the audit was completed and/or updated.

  • Saturday, June 28—Commencement

  • Tuesday, July 1—Summer I final grades due at noon

  • Wednesday, July 2—Summer II drop/add ends

  • Thursday, July 3—Census

  • Friday, July 4—Independence Day Recess

  • Tuesday, July 8—Last day to receive a 50% refund for complete withdrawal

  • Monday, July 21—Last day to receive a 25% refund for complete withdrawal

  • Monday, July 21—Last day to withdraw

  • Friday, August 15—Summer II session ends

  • Tuesday, August 19—Final grades due at noon
