December Commencement

Times for the December 13 commencement ceremony have been set. Three ceremonies will be held in Miller auditorium as follows:

9 a.m.

College of Fine Arts

College of Health and Human Services Haworth College of Business

12:30 p.m.

College of Education and Human Development College of Engineering and Applied Sciences College of Aviation

4:00 p.m.

College of Arts and Sciences Extended University Programs

Degree Works Usage

I am happy to report that we continue to see an increased number of students using Degree Works. In September, 2,440 students accessed Degree Works one or more times. This is a significant increase from last September when we had 372 students on the system. Thank you to everyone for your efforts educating our undergraduate students that the Degree Works tool is available to help them plan and complete their WMU degree.

Re-Authorization

The WMU Employee Security re-authorization form is available in GoWMU. An email was sent to employees on October 1 providing detailed instructions on how to complete the new electronic reauthorization process. Employees and supervisors have until October 15 to complete the process. If you have any questions, please contact the Registrar's Office at (269)387-4300.

Spring 2015 Registration

Spring 2015 registration begins one week from today on Monday, Oct. 13. Graduate students have access to register on day one, followed by priority students (Athletes, DSS, Honors, RAs, Trio) on day two. Seniors with 122 hours can register beginning on Wednesday, October 15. The complete schedule can be found online.

Upcoming Dates:

  • Wednesday, October 22—Last day to receive a 25% refund for a complete withdraw

  • Sunday, October 26—Midterm grades due

  • Monday, November 3—Last day to withdraw

  • Wednesday, November 26—Thanksgiving recess starts at noon

  • Monday, December 1—Classes resume

  • Tuesday, Dec. 16—Final grades due at noon
