Spring 2015 One-Stop Convenience Center

The One-Stop Center will be open this week in the Bernhard Center, Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The full schedule and more information can be found online.

Census

The Spring 2015 census will be occurring Tuesday, Jan. 20. In preparation please make sure:

  • the correct instructor of record has been entered in Banner for all sections using the SIAASGN form.
  • sections on hold have been cancelled or made active.
  • all students attending have been registered so they will be counted in our spring census numbers. This includes students completing thesis and dissertation hours, independent studies, internships, seminars, etc.

Waitlist

Waitlist notification will be turned off Friday afternoon for the spring semester. Any student still remaining on a waitlist will be removed the morning of Jan 20. Departments will then be able to register students into waitlisted sections on census day as they see appropriate. If you would like to print a list of students waitlisted in a section prior to next Tuesday, you can do so in Banner on the SFAWLPR form.

Student academic concern

The self-service application for instructors to report a student not attending has been improved in time for the start of the spring semester. The options available for an instructor to report a student have been expanded to include academic concern, excessive absences or missing multiple assignments. We are hoping by adding these additional options it will make it easier for instructors to report students who are having difficulty, thereby allowing appropriate staff to intervene and help.

Scope

WMU offers senior citizens—persons 62 years of age or older—the opportunity to enroll in one regularly scheduled class tuition free through the Senior Citizens' Opportunity Program in Education. Anyone interested in participating in the SCOPE program must submit an admission application. Registration is done in person in the Registrar's Office during the drop and add period as seats are available. More information on SCOPE—as well as link to the application—can be found on the Registrar's Office website.
