Spring 2016 schedule building
Spring 2016 working reports are available in Cognos for departments to review. Working reports do not need to be returned this round; all editing may be done in Banner through 5 p.m. on June 5.
General education guide
The general education guide has been updated for the 2015-16 academic year and is available on the Registrar's Office website.
The 2015-16 graduate and undergraduate catalogs are now available online. Catalogs from previous years have been archived and can be viewed by selecting the year from the drop down menu. We will be working on the PDF versions and plan to have those available before the start of the fall semester. A mobile version of the WMU catalog can be viewed on an Android or Apple device. The catalogs are located under the academic icon on the WMU Mobile app.
Orientation officially kicks off this Wednesday, June 3 as we welcome the first of ten groups to campus. A complete schedule of orientation dates can be found online.
Degree Works tip of the week
At the top of the worksheet—next to the Process New button—there are two check boxes that are often overlooked. These boxes are Include in-progress classes and Include preregistered classes. Checking and unchecking these boxes allows you to see how taking current and future enrollments out of the picture will affect what is still needed to complete the degree. Since the future registrations are subject to change you may only want to see what is still needed after the current semester, but before upcoming semesters. In this case you would want to check the Include in-progress courses and uncheck the other box.
If you would like to see what is still needed if a student withdraws from their current courses and drops all future registrations you would uncheck both boxes. This will allow you and the student to see the impact of the decision before the courses are actually dropped. Whenever you uncheck or check these boxes be sure to Process New to see the change in the worksheet.
