study abroad transcript change
A change has recently been made to the way study abroad courses are entered on the WMU transcript. In the past, when a student completed their study abroad program, a grade was assigned using place holder classes (LANG 4770, INTL 3300 or INTL 3310). Going forward, the WMU equivalent will be listed on the transcript instead of the place holder class. As an example, if a student is awarded WMU credit of SPAN 2010; SPAN 2010 will be listed on the transcript instead of SPAN 4770.
This change will reduce the number of exceptions that have to be made in Degree Works and will help to ensure that the correct class is used for pre-requisite checking. If a study abroad course is not assigned a WMU equivalent, it will continue to be listed on the transcript under the place holder class.
summer II registration
Adds
Census occurred on Friday, July 8. Students wanting to add a Summer II course today will need to submit a completed Permission to Late Add form to the Registrar’s Office. Students will be assessed a late add fee of $100 per class if they were not registered for at least one course prior to July 8.
Withdraws
Students will receive a 50% refund for a complete withdraw through Tuesday, July 12. A 25% refund will be granted for complete withdraws from Wednesday, July 13 to Monday, July 25.
A 24-hour grace period is provided to students who drop a course that meets for the first time on or after the end of the drop/add period. Students dropping a class within 24 hours of the start date should contact the Registrar’s Office to make sure they receive the correct refund.
Grade mode and credit hour changes
At this point in the semester, students can no longer change from a letter grade to credit/no credit, or from credit/no credit to a letter grade. Students are also unable to decrease credit hours in a variable credit course. According to university policy, changes to the grade mode and the credit hour range can only be done through the end of the drop/add period.

At the June 29 meeting, the Board of Trustees set tuition for the coming year. The tuition/fees page and the tuition calculator have been updated on the Registrar's Office website to reflect the 4.19% increase that will go into effect fall semester.
