Spring 2017 registration

The Spring 2017 schedule opens for viewing one week from today and registration begins on Monday, October 10. The complete registration schedule can be found on the Registrar’s Office website.

Major and minor changes

Changes to a student's major or minor occurring now will need to be made effective in Banner for the Spring 2017 semester. This is to prevent a student's fall tuition from being reassessed if they are moving to or from a college with differential tuition.

Since registration has ended, these changes will need to done through SGASTDN; not SFAREGS. Click here for instructions. Once registration opens for Spring 2017, you will be able to make the changes through SFAREGS.

First work and midterm grading

Midterm grading is open and instructors are encouraged to submit a first work grade by Monday, September 26 and a midterm grade by Monday, October 24. First work grades can be entered using the midterm grade worksheet located on the faculty menu in GoWMU. Providing early feedback to students gives them a sense of how they are doing in the course and lets them know where they may need to make adjustments while they still have time to do so.

Degree Works tip

Most of the time, preregistered courses will automatically appear on a student’s Degree Works worksheet.  However, occasionally that won't be the case.  If you do not see preregistered courses on a worksheet, all you need to do is click “Process New” and the preregistered courses will display.  Keep in mind that before clicking “Process New,” make sure the “Include preregistered classes” box at the top of the worksheet is checked.

Any changes in Banner (including registration changes) will automatically update Degree Works overnight.  If you would like to see the changes immediately, click the refresh button located in the upper right-hand corner of the worksheet.  This will refresh Degree Works with any changes made in Banner.  Once the information is refreshed from Banner, “Process New” to see the changes on the worksheet.
