Student Information Systems Security Re-Authorization

The semi-annual student information systems re-authorization period has begun and will close on February 27. An email will be going out today to anyone with access to one or more student systems. The email will contain instructions on how to access the online form in GoWMU. Automated reminder notifications will be sent during the re-authorization period until both the employee and the supervisor have approved or denied the reauthorization. Registration

Summer registration is in progress. Priority registration ended Friday. Starting today, all students are eligible to register for summer I and summer II courses.

The Fall 2017 schedule will be available for viewing on February 20. Fall registration opens on Monday, March 13.

Midterm Grades

Just a reminder, midterm grades are due one month from today on Monday, March 13. Several instructors indicated that the first work grade deadline was too early in the semester to provide a meaningful grade. As such, we are only requesting a midterm grade this semester. In place of a first work grade, we are asking instructors to report any student in academic difficulty using the Report Student Academic Concern form.

The Report Student Academic Concern form is located on the Faculty Menu in to GoWMU. Instructors can report students who are not performing well, have excessive absences or are missing multiple assignments. When a student is reported, the information is sent to the Registrar's Office, Residence Life (if the student is living on campus) and the academic advisor (if the student is an undergraduate).  In addition, a comment is added to the “Notes” section in Degree Works.  If the student has granted Proxy access to a parent, the parent will have access to the Academic Concern note in Degree Works.

Degree Works email tip

You can email students and advisors directly from Degree Works.  If you click on the name of the student or the name of the advisor at the top of the worksheet, an email window will open. When you click on the advisor’s name, the email will automatically copy the student.  You can remove the student from the “cc” box if you do not want them to receive a copy.

• Mar. 13—Midterm grades due
• Mar. 20—Last day to withdraw from classes
• Apr. 24 - 28—Final exam week
• Apr. 29—Semester ends; Commencement
• May 2—Final grades due by noon
