free campus shredding event

To encourage the proper disposal of the University's protected information, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) Committee is hosting the third annual document shredding event on Tuesday, April 11 in Lot 41 near Sangren Hall. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until the shred truck reaches its capacity of 10,000 pounds.

Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to drop off professional or personal documents to ensure they are properly destroyed and recycled. This is a great time to review your departmental records and purge any unwanted documents.  In addition to paper, you will be able to drop off CDs, DVDs, and Floppy Disks for disposal.

December graduation deadline

As you work with students who plan to complete their degree requirements at the end of the Fall 2017 semester, please remind them to submit their application for graduation before the August 1 deadline. We want to make sure prospective graduates remember to take care of this important step before they leave campus for the summer.

guest applications

WMU students planning to attend another institution as a guest student over the summer can apply using a guest application.  If the student is seeking enrollment at a Michigan college or university, they should complete a Michigan Undergraduate Guest Application.  Students can access the guest application in GoWMU under the Academic Services menu.  The application will be filled in automatically with all the required information, including the seal and signature.  The student only needs to print, sign and mail the application to the guest school.  The Guest Application can also be found online.

Students using the non-GoWMU version will need to bring the application to the Registrar’s Office to have part II of the form completed.   All students interested in taking a course over the summer at a guest institution should contact that institution to determine if additional requirements are required for admission or enrollment.  Students must arrange to have a transcript sent of any credit earned from the guest institution back to WMU upon the completion of the semester/session.

Fact of the week

392 students withdrew from one or more Spring 2017 courses last Monday, the last day to withdraw.
