Security reauthorization

The semi-annual security re-authorization process is scheduled to begin on Oct 1 and run through Oct 15. Security re-authorization allows us to audit access to critical computer systems used at WMU and to ensure that users are familiar and up to date with the latest policies.

On Sunday, all users and their supervisor will receive an email notifying them that re-authorization has started. The email will include instructions on how to complete the electronic re-authorization process.

University calendars

At their September 20 meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the WMU-AAUP Collective Bargaining Agreement.  As part of that agreement, the University calendar was established for 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21 academic years.

Please note: starting next fall, classes will begin three business days earlier on the Wednesday before the Labor Day holiday. There will be a three-day fall break (Wednesday through Friday) in October.

Spring 2018 course offerings

Course offerings for the Spring 2018 semester will open for viewing this morning. The schedule of course offerings can be accessed from the Registrar’s Office website or through GoWMU using the Course Offering link.

Registration starts on Monday, Oct. 9.

Priority registration for military students

Students who are active duty military, reservists, veterans, members of the National Guard, or contracted ROTC Cadets have been granted priority registration starting with spring 2018 registration.

This change was made in keeping with the University’s commitment to being a military friendly campus.  Priority registration will remain on the student’s record for their entire academic career.   Service members not currently receiving veteran benefits should contact the Registrar’s Office in order to receive priority registration.  A DD214 or military identification will be required.

Fact of the week

526 students are receiving veteran benefits this semester.
