Spring 2018 registration

Registration for the Spring 2018 semester opens next Monday, October 9 at 8:00 a.m. for graduate students. The complete registration schedule is available on the Registrar’s Office website.

Verification of minimum faculty qualifications

In order to ensure that WMU is compliant with HLC requirements, a revised Verification of Faculty Credentials policy has been developed.  A rubric was also created for entering an alphanumeric code in Banner on the Faculty Assignment form (SIAASGN).  A code will need to be entered in the Assignment Type field on each section.  This will enable us to demonstrate to HLC that we are in compliance with our policy.

Summer II grading

Grading for the Summer II session has closed. Students who were not issued a grade by the instructor have been given an incomplete. Instructors can remove the "I" grade using the link on the Faculty menu in GoWMU.

Report student academic concern

It is important that we make every effort to reach out to students who are struggling academically or who are not attending class regularly. As a reminder, the Report Student Academic Concern link is provided on the faculty menu in GoWMU for instructors to report an academic concern, excessive absences or missing multiple assignments.

Information reported using the Student Academic Concern form is sent to the student, the Registrar's Office, Residence Life (if the student is living on campus) and the academic advisor (if the student is an undergraduate).   Student academic concerns are also added to Degree Works.  Parents are able to view this information in Degree Works if the student has granted them Proxy access.

Faculty and staff who are concerned about a student’s welfare or observe uncharacteristic behavioral changes can report the student using the Non-Academic Concern form.  Trained staff in Student Affairs will review concerns submitted and contact the student to determine what, or if, assistance is needed.

Below is a guide outlining when to use the Student Academic Concern form and when to use the Student Non-Academic Concern form.
