Last day to withdraw

Today is the last day students are able to withdraw from a summer I course. They can withdraw through GoWMU until 11:59 p.m. tonight. Students who are unable to access the registration system due to a hold on their account can withdraw in the Registrar's Office. If the student is not on campus, please have them contact our office at (269) 387-4300 for assistance.

After tonight, withdrawal from a course will only be permitted through the hardship panel withdrawal process of GAPDAC. Documentation will be required and the Hardship Panel will determine if a hardship exists and whether a withdrawal is warranted. Students initiate this process through the Ombudsman’s Office.

Diploma orderings

Alumni now have the ability to request duplicate copies of their WMU diploma online through our diploma vendor, Michael Sutter.  Students who graduated on or after June 2012 can access the diploma ordering system by entering their WIN and last name. Students who do not know their WIN or who graduated prior to June 2012 will need to submit a diploma request.  An email will be sent to them within 2-3 business days containing a Secure ID and ordering information.

There is a $35 charge for each diploma replacement. Diplomas will be printed and mailed within 1–2 days after receiving the order.

Commencement

The online ticketing system is open for eligible graduates to reserve six guest tickets for the June 23 commencement ceremony.  After completing the reservation process, graduates will receive a confirmation email with the tickets attached. Commencement tickets may be printed and distributed or shared electronically with guests.

Graduates have until June 15 to reserve tickets. Graduates may request additional tickets on June 20 and 21.  Additional tickets will be available while quantities last on a first come, first served basis.

As a reminder, all commencement tickets are allocated to the graduates and delivered electronically.  No additional tickets are available for distribution to faculty and staff. Guests without tickets may view the ceremony on a large screen in Brown Hall, room 2028.

Faculty attending commencement may order regalia free of charge. To ensure availability of hood colors from the institution at which faculty earned their degree, orders should be placed by this Wednesday. Regalia will be available in the York Arena Theatre Saturday, June 23 beginning at 8 a.m.

Fact of the week
