Grading

Grading for the spring 2018 semester is closed. Students who were not issued a grade by the instructor have been given an incomplete. Instructors can remove the “I” grade using the “Remove Incomplete Grade” link on the Faculty menu in GoWMU. 

Summer commencement

ticket deadline: June 15, 2018

There are just a few days left for summer graduates to reserve their tickets for commencement.  A link to reserve tickets can be found on the commencement website under “tickets.”  

After completing the ticket reservation process, students will be able to print a PDF ticket or send the ticket electronically to their guest.

Graduates have until June 15 to reserve their guest tickets.  Tickets not claimed by June 15 will be donated to the extra ticket pool and will no longer be available. 

Fall 2018 program changes

Degree Works and the undergraduate catalog have been updated with all changes to programs that came through the curriculum process effective Fall 2018.  This includes revisions to existing programs and programs newly created for fall.

Departments are encouraged to closely proof the requirements for their programs in Degree Works.  The requirements as outlined in the undergraduate catalog should exactly match the requirements in Degree Works.  If discrepancies between the catalog and Degree Works are discovered, please notify Kelley Oliver in the Registrar’s Office as soon as possible.

Fact of the week

51 Kalamazoo Promise students graduated in April; the highest number in any one term since the Promise started.

UPCOMING DATES

  • June 23—Commencement ceremonies are held at Miller Auditorium.
  • June 27—Summer I ends.
  • June 28—Summer II begins at 8 a.m.
  • July 3 —Summer I grades are due no later than noon. 
  • July 4—Independence Day - University closed. 
  • July 6—Last day to drop and add; last day to receive 100% refund; census
  • July 7—$100 late add fee begins; begin recording withdraws as "W" on transcripts
  • July 10—Last day to receive 50% refund for a complete withdrawal
  • July 23—Last day to withdraw from classes; last day to receive 25% refund for a complete withdrawal
  • August 17—Semester ends
  • August 21—Final grades are due
  • August 29—Fall 2018 classes begin at 8 a.m. - please note this is the Wednesday before Labor Day
