Final exams

As a reminder, if the university should close during Monday through Thursday of final exam week, the exams scheduled on that day of closure would automatically move to Friday without affecting any other exam day.

Any rescheduled exam will take place at the same time and in the same place as originally scheduled. The complete final exam schedule can be found online

Graduates have through today to reserve their guest tickets. They receive a confirmation email which includes a PDF version of their tickets. They are also able to access their tickets by clicking on the “My Tickets” tab at the top of the ticket reservation website.  Graduates can either print copies of their tickets or email them directly to their guests.

Graduates will be required to print a copy of their student admission ticket and bring it with them to commencement. The student admission tickets will be used to read student names during the ceremony. Registrar’s Office staff will be on hand to assist students who forget to bring their student admission ticket to commencement.

Graduates who reserved their tickets through 11:59 p.m. tonight may request additional guest tickets online starting December 13 at 8 a.m. through December 14 at 5 p.m.  Additional tickets will be available while quantities last on a first come, first served basis.

We do not have an allotment of extra tickets available for distribution outside of the tickets provided to graduates through the online ticket reservation system. Guests without tickets are invited to watch the ceremony in 2028 Brown Hall where the ceremony will be streamed live.

The commencement ceremonies will be broadcast live on EduCABLE channel 5 and throughout the Kalamazoo viewing area by Charter Communications on Public Media Network's channel 99.  You can also follow our graduates on Twitter using #WMUGrad.

Pro Tip

Using the wildcard helps when performing a name lookup.

  • The % sign is used as the wildcard.
  • You may use the wildcard more than once in each name field.
  • Wildcards may be placed anywhere in the name field.
  • Without the wildcard, the system will look for an exact match.

For example:

Student Name:  Buster Bronco
Last Name Field: Br%nc%
First Name Field: Bu%

Meet the Registrar's OfficeSue Land

It was a natural progression for Sue to land a job at WMU. Her parents were professors here and she spent a lot of time on campus growing up.

Her father, Dr. George Stegman, was a professor in Industrial Engineering and her mother taught Technical Communications for applied sciences.

As part of her Printing Management curriculum, Sue had to take her mother's class, but she took a class with her father as an elective. "Hardest A's I ever earned!" says Sue. She went on to earn a BS in Printing Management in 1999.

Sue was a temporary employee for many months in the Registrar’s Office. She was instrumental in helping to image the thousands of student records into ImageNow. She had the opportunity to take a full-time position with the Department of History and worked there for almost a year. The Registrar’s Office was fortunate to be able to hire her as a graduation auditor in October this year.

Sue has been married to her husband, Bill, for 29 years. They are excited to welcome their grandson in the next couple of weeks. He will join his four-year-old sister in keeping Sue and her husband busy. In her spare time, Sue loves to cook, in fact, she owned her own catering company for nine years. She also enjoys camping, kayaking, and fishing with her family.
